How Steel Companies are doing Internet Marketing?

In our study of Online Marketing by Steel Producers, we surveyed top 40 global companies
including Arcelor Mittal, Nippon, Posco, Tata, SAIL, Essar and more.
The structure of these websites are huge and content rich. Majority of websites are in two
languages commonly in English and Indigenous. Few websites like arcelormittal.com,
posco.com & dk-st.com compromise of more than two languages.

About 25% of steel producers are using E-commerce facility to sale and procurement. About
75% of steel producers have well built product catalogs within their websites and rest lack
this important feature. About 25% of steel producers are building their brand image in
Architect Segment, and are very active with various digital tools to engage their visitors.
Only two major steel producers are found using online advertising tools to increase traffic
and online branding, where as majority of companies still depend on their own regular
visitors for their online promotions. Surprisingly despite of simple and easy to use digital
advertisement tools these companies are still not using them.
We also noticed that many companies are using CRM module to interact with their online
visitors, but how innovative and consistent are they, is still a question. Other tools like
Display Ads, SEM, Branded Sponsorship, Referals, Video Ads, Podcasts, Widgets, Social
Networks, Blogs, E-greeting, Surveys, Printer Friendly Pages, Screen Savers are sparingly
utilized.
